However, we understand that there may be instances where you need to return or exchange a product. This Return, Refund & Warranty Policy outlines the terms and conditions under which you may do so. Please read this policy carefully before making a purchase.
- Money Back Guarantee / Change of Mind Return
Buyer can return the item within 14 days for any reason except bulky heavey products. If 14days have passed since your purchase, we can’t offer you a full refund or exchange.
To be eligible for a return, your item must be new, unused and in the original packaging that you received it. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.

If your return is accepted, we’ll send you instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.
Bulky & Heavy Fish Tanks 50 Litres and Larger
We do not give refunds if you simply change your mind or make a wrong decision.
This policy is in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law as a refund or exchange is not covered under ACCC for change of mind.

Exchanges
The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item.
Damages and issues
It is the customers responsibility to thoroughly inspect all shipments after receiving delivery. This includes opening the lid of the crate and inspecting the parts inside. Should a customer receive an item with non-repairable damage, Unique Fishtanks must be notified in writing of the damage with photographs and video showing the documented damage within 24 hours of receiving the shipment. Or no return will be valid.
Faulty
In the unfortunate case where your product is defective having carefully followed the manufacturer instructions then please contact us immediately within 14 days of receiving the goods.
At the discretion of the Unique Fishtanks we will:
– Give you a refund for the defective product or
– Exchange it for the same product, or replace just the faulty part to ensure the complete product is functioning again.
Warranty
Aquariums 250 liters and larger purchased from Unique Fishtanks are under warranty against leaks or cracks due to defects in the materials or workmanship (see Exclusions below) for 1 year. Aquariums under 250 liters are warrantied for 60 days.
All claims must be accompanied by Proof of purchase and only apply to the original purchaser of the products.
Should the aquarium be found defective during the warranty period, the customer must return the aquarium at their cost to Unique Fishtanks in Vermont VIC.
Air bubbles in acrylics – please note that air bubbles can develop in the acrylics during the curing process. While we do our best to minimize these and it is very rare to see them, a small number of air bubbles may still occur. This do not affect the structural integrity or the durability of the aquarium.
Exclusions
- Stress fractures caused by insufficient structural support, i.e. unleveled or twisted ground.
- Damage resulting from accident, misuse, abuse, lack of reasonable care, other than normal and ordinary use of the product, subjecting the product to abnormal working conditions or any other failure not resulting from defects in materials or workmanship.
- Damage resulting from tampering with or attempted repair by anyone other than the Company.
- Damage resulting from modification of aquarium from its original purchased form, i.e. holes drilled, frames or braces removed etc.
- Unique Fishtanks is not responsible for any damages caused by tank failure.
Warranty Claim Process
• Send us an email to enquiries@uniquefishtanks.com.au with your order number and the reason for return.
• Our customer service representative will advise you of the return address.
Refunds
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 14 business days, however, in many cases, you will receive a refund more quickly. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.
